Frequently Asked Questions

How many people does Ein Cynefin sleep?

Ein Cynefin sleeps up to 10 guests across five bedrooms. Each bedroom has an ensuite bathroom (all with baths, two with showers as well).

The bedroom configuration is: 2 king bedrooms, 2 double bedrooms, and 1 twin bedroom.

Travel cots fit in all rooms, and most bedrooms can accommodate an additional single bed if needed. If your group is larger than 10, please get in touch and we'll do our best to accommodate you.

Is Ein Cynefin suitable for children?

Yes, very suitable. The gardens are enclosed and safe for children. There's space for games, outdoor dining, and letting children be loud without disturbing neighbours.

Inside, the house has multiple living spaces so children can play while adults have quiet.

We provide:

  • 2 high chairs

  • Travel cots (please request when booking)

  • Toys and games

  • The gardens have plenty of space for running around

The surrounding area has family-friendly attractions: Chester Zoo (20 minutes), Delamere Forest (25 minutes) and beaches (30-40 minutes).

Are pets allowed?

Yes, we welcome up to 2 well-behaved dogs; there’s a £40 charge per dog. Please mention you're bringing dogs when you book and if you’d love to bring more than 2 dogs, please get in touch.

There's an acre of gardens for them to explore, and the surrounding countryside has excellent walking.

Is there parking at Ein Cynefin?

Yes, free private parking for multiple cars on the property.

Is there WiFi?

Yes, rural WiFi throughout the house. There's no standard TV signal (we're too remote), but the 48-inch Smart TV in the snug works via WiFi for streaming services.

How many bathrooms does Ein Cynefin have?

Five ensuite bathrooms, one for each bedroom. All ensuites have baths, four have shower-in-bath and two (the Blue Bedroom and Autumn Bedroom) have a separate walk-in shower.

This means no queuing for bathrooms, even with 10 people staying.

Is Ein Cynefin suitable for weddings?

Yes. We've hosted wedding families over the past year. Ein Cynefin is very close to popular wedding venues Soughton Hall and Highfield Hall.

Ein Cynefin works especially well for wedding parties because:

  • Five ensuite bedrooms means privacy (parents in one wing, wedding party in another)

  • We're 20 minutes from Chester where several wedding venues are located

  • The dining room seats 12 for rehearsal dinners or post-wedding brunches

  • The acre of gardens works well for pre-wedding drinks

How far is Ein Cynefin from Chester?

20 minutes by car from Chester city centre. Chester train station (with regular services from London, Manchester, and Liverpool) is also 20 minutes away. We can arrange car hire or taxi pickup.

How far is Ein Cynefin from Snowdonia?

30 minutes to the edge of Snowdonia National Park.

Betws-y-Coed (gateway village) is 45 minutes. Llanberis (base of Yr Wyddfa/Snowdon) is 40 minutes.

Ein Cynefin works well as a base for exploring Snowdonia while having space and quiet to return to.

What's the nearest town?

Mold is 5 minutes away. It has a weekly Saturday market, independent shops, cafes, and a Tesco for provisions.

Chester (20 minutes) is the nearest city with restaurants, shopping, and cultural attractions.

What are the check-in and check-out times?

Check-in: 4pm

Check-out: 10am

If you need different times, please ask when booking. We'll accommodate where possible depending on bookings either side of your stay.

Can we bring our own chef?

Yes, we're happy for you to bring a chef to cook at Ein Cynefin.

The kitchen is well-equipped and designed for serious cooking (range cooker, plenty of workspace, dining table for a large group). Some guests hire local chefs for celebration meals. If you'd like recommendations, ask when you book. We do like to speak to any professional chefs in advance to brief them on the house.

What's your cancellation policy?
